Talha Talib calls on the government to work regularly for Wapda

Tokyo: Pakistani weightlifter Talha Talib has called on government authorities to formalize his work in Wapda.

The 21-year-old weightlifter from Gujranwala said on the Weibo website: “The WAPDA department please follow me now and promote a better future for me.”

“I haven’t gotten a promotion from WAPDA in 3 years! Please note.”

Talha Talib is currently participating in the 67 kg weightlifting competition in Tokyo. On Sunday, he was surpassed by athletes from China, Colombia and Italy in the final to finish fifth.

This weightlifter has attracted a lot of attention in Pakistan because most social media users call him a hero because he is the first athlete from Pakistan in 44 years.

Moreover, he participated in the game without a coach, but he showed his courage.

In an interview before the Olympics, Talha emphasized that the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) had not organized any training camps for weightlifters in the past three years.

As PSB did not arrange adequate facilities, Talha himself had to train in a temporary gym in the courtyard of a school in Gujranwala.
