Soldiers killed in attack on military posts in North Waziristan

According to the Interservice Public Relations Department (ISPR), terrorists attacked a military checkpoint in North Waziristan on Saturday, and a Pakistani army soldier died in the line of duty.

Military media reported that terrorists opened fire on a checkpoint in the Ghariom area. It added that security personnel responded in an appropriate manner.

ISPR said that during the exchange of fire, the 29-year-old Sepoy Shahid, a resident of Bahawalnagar, accepted his martyrdom, adding that a cleanup operation was launched in the area after the attack.

It reaffirmed the Pakistani army’s determination to eliminate the threat of terrorism, stating that “the sacrifice of our brave soldiers further strengthened our determination.”

On August 2, a Pakistani Army soldier was martyred after terrorists opened fire on a military post in Ghariom in North Waziristan. According to the military media department, the martyred soldier was identified as 37-year-old Naik Ghulam Mustafa, a resident of Muzaffarabad.

ISPR has stated that search operations have been launched in the area to eliminate terrorists.
