Sindhi schools will be closed for another week

Karachi: The Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, said on Friday that schools in the province will be closed for another week.

The Chief Minister said at a press conference that educational institutions will resume face-to-face learning from August 30, which was originally scheduled to start next Monday.

CM Shah said that all teachers and parents also need to show their vaccination certificates. He added: “All staff should be vaccinated before the school reopens.”

On August 17, Sindhi Education Sardar Shah announced that the Sindhi Education Institution will resume classes on August 23.

The minister announced the news after chairing the meeting of the steering committee of the Ministry of Education of Sindh Province.

Shah has stated that the school will reopen when only 50% of the students are present, and educational institutions with a comprehensive vaccination rate will be allowed to 100% of the student population.

The minister has said that closing and reopening schools is not a solution, and that different methods that do not harm the education of students should be adopted.

“The parent of a student must submit their NADRA vaccination certificate to the school administration,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that, according to the decision of the Inter-Provincial Conference of Ministers of Education (IPEMC), with the exception of Sindh, compared with other provinces, all educational institutions outside of Sindh are opened in various parts of Pakistan.
