The Sindh High Court (SHC) Judge Sukkur on Tuesday ordered the payment of withheld wages to the Chief Minister of Sindh, his cabinet members, the chief secretary and the secretaries of the Ministry of Finance and Agriculture in the pension case.
In the past six months, SHC has suspended payment of wages due to non-compliance with its order to grant pensions to retired employees of the Khairpur Market Committee.
The lawyers of the Sindh Provincial Government notified the court that 60 million rupees had been issued to pay salaries to the retired employees of the Market Committee.
After obtaining confirmation from the applicants present, the SHC judge ordered the release of the detained wages of CM, cabinet members, chief secretary and others in Sindh Province.
Ghulam Shabbir Mallah, a retired employee of the Khairpur Market Committee, moved the bench of SHC Sukkur, saying that he and his other colleagues have not received pensions since their retirement in 2018.
In the previous case trial, the judge seat has issued an order to the respondent requesting him to pay pension.
The judge expressed dissatisfaction with the Sindh provincial government’s ignorance of the court order and ordered the suspension of payment of wages to all interviewees until the order was complied with.
