The Sui Nan Gas Company (SSGC) announced on Tuesday that starting today, the CNG station in Sindh will be closed for a week.
The closure was carried out in the context of a shortage of supply.
The CNG gas station will reopen at 8 am on June 29 (Tuesday).
Sameer Najam Al Hussain, the Sindh district coordinator of the All Pakistan Compressed Natural Gas Association, said that the decision was made after they received a notice to shut down the supply of natural gas indefinitely.
The budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year has recently raised concerns about the increase in compressed natural gas prices. As the government proposes to impose a general sales tax on liquefied natural gas, concerns have intensified.
The All Pakistan Compressed Natural Gas Association stated that the imposition of new and additional LNG taxes will increase the price of compressed natural gas from 6 rupees per kilogram to 9 rupees.
