Sindh asks for the establishment of refugee camps in Punjab

The Minister of Agriculture, Supply and Prices of Sindh, Mohamed Ismail Rahu, stated on Monday that the federal government should be Afghanistan in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the combined areas (formerly Federally Administered Tribal Areas) People set up refugee camps.

“The border should be blocked so that people cannot enter Pakistan because of the Afghan war. However, if immigration is imminent, then refugee camps should be established near the Afghan border,” he said.

Since all NATO and U.S. troops have left Afghanistan’s largest air base, three days after the complete withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan seemed imminent, the provincial minister made this request.

The provincial minister emphasized that Sindh province, and Karachi in particular, is facing the pressure of population growth. Therefore, there are already problems of law and order crisis and unemployment in the metropolis.

Rahu said that because of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, there is concern that Afghans may begin to migrate to Pakistan.

“Sindh province cannot accommodate more immigrants because the Afghans who arrived in the province during this period [former president General Zia-ul-Haq’s] The term of office has not left yet,” he added.
