The head of the New Karachi Industrial Zone Police Station (SHO) and four other policemen were arrested on Friday after a video went viral on social media showing them warning the family of an arrested man if they do not , Will kill him in a false encounter and bribe them.

The video also showed that the police collected Rs 2 million from the family of the arrested man who was alleged to be a drug dealer. As the police threatened to extrajudicially execute their relatives, the suspect’s brother secretly produced their video and later uploaded it on social media.

As the video went viral on the Internet, senior police officers noticed this and arrested the police. The arrested police officers included SHO Younus Khattak, ASI Riaz Siyal, Constable Waleed and Constable Ajab Gul. A case has been registered against them.

Police in the New Karachi Industrial Zone arrested Iqbal, who was suspected of trafficking in drugs, under the pseudonym Huzoor Buksh. The investigation revealed that a total of 35 kilograms of marijuana were seized from his property and SHO misreported 10 kilograms.

According to reports, the arrested police have divided up 2 million rupees.
