Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrives in Beijing for a two-day visit

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Beijing on Friday to begin a two-day visit to China.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shah Mahmoud Qureshi is visiting China at the invitation of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This visit is part of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China.
During the visit, the two sides will discuss further deepening bilateral relations, focusing on high-quality development under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), defense and security cooperation, Covid-19 vaccine, counter-terrorism, and regional and international issues of common concern.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this visit will play an important role in further strengthening the “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” between Pakistan and China, and will expand strategic communication and coordination with China on a series of issues.
In addition, Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid, Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence Service (ISI), also arrived in Beijing on Friday to hold strategic talks with Chinese officials.
This year, Pakistan and China are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
