Islamabad: Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood launched the Inter-Chairman Committee (IBCC) electronic portal and mobile phone application to grant equivalent certificates to students.

At the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, the minister stated that IBCC is following Prime Minister Imran Khan’s instructions to introduce transparency, ease of doing business and customer convenience.

According to the Prime Minister’s vision, the launch of such an application is not only a revolutionary step, but also a landmark project of the Ministry of Education, which aims to minimize public problems and increase their access to IBCC.

He said that before digitization, applicants had faced many problems, that is, they had to queue for hours to deposit fees and pay IBCC to meet the actual conditions of existence, even in their limited branches.

In addition, courier services are not available, and applicants must travel several miles to obtain an equivalent certificate at the IBCC office, he added.

Mehmood said that overseas Pakistanis are national assets and applications are helpful to them, adding that for the convenience of applicants, express delivery services have been integrated so that applicants can track their applications in real time.

In addition, he congratulated all stakeholders, especially the IBCC secretary, for using the latest technology to facilitate the public.

Earlier, IBCC Secretary Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah briefed the minister on the utility and benefits of the application.

The application enables people to apply for equivalent certificates online, and allows them to deposit fees online from the IBCC mobile application from any financial institution through counter transactions, digital wallet payments via credit and debit cards.

They will be updated throughout the application process.
