Islamabad: Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood criticized the opposition party on Friday and said that PML-N adopted a cheap political strategy by commenting on examination questions.
The minister said in a tweet that PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal and Saad Rafique knew that Balochistan and Sindh had already conducted examinations, so they could not treat other students differently.
“they know [the] All federal agencies have unanimously decided to take the exam, including AJK’s PML-N government and Sindh’s PPP,” he wrote on Twitter.
The Minister added that Ahsan and Rafique knew that since there was no exam last year, they were unable to promote students based on previous exams, adding that if they claim to be educated, they should know that exams are the best way to measure students’ abilities.
Mahmoud wrote that the two leaders should know that after the 18th Amendment, of the 30 education committees in the country, only one committee, the Federal Council, was handed over to the federal government, while the other committees were assigned to their respective provinces and provinces. Jurisdiction. other organisations.
“Yet they [Ahsan Iqbal and Saad Rafique] Pretending to be an order from the Federal Minister can stop examinations across the country. Again it is just a failed attempt at cheap politics,” the minister wrote in a statement condemning the PML-N leader.
Mehmood reminded students that the remaining provinces and federal units will start the exam tomorrow (July 10).
“I hope all students who take the exam tomorrow will get the best results. Inshallah, everything will be fine,” he wrote.
“Students who say to give more time can always appear in all board supplementary exams for 2/3 months. Why postpone these exams and punish students who have been studying?”
It should be remembered that one day ago, Ahsan Iqbal said in a speech at the National Assembly meeting, “Hundreds of students were depressed by the pressure of the exam and were forced to commit suicide.”
He said that ideally, students should have at least two to three months to prepare for the exam, but the PTI government only releases the exam schedule 20 days before the exam, which puts too much pressure on the students.
Iqbal added that due to online courses, students did not get equal opportunities and could not cover smart subjects.
“Dozens of students expect the conference to make appropriate decisions. Those who belong to the lower-middle class and study in public schools cannot get enough time to complete the syllabus. He requested that the intermediate exam be postponed for 45 days so that students have enough time be prepared.
On the other hand, Rafik said that “sensitive issues of the intermediate exam should not involve politics. He requested that the exam be postponed for six to eight weeks.
PML-N members said that due to severe load shedding across the country, students were also unable to take online courses. He asked the speaker to call Shafqat Mahmood to answer questions.
Although members of the opposition party advocated postponing the exam, the federal government rejected the request.
