Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood said on Wednesday that the Inter-Provincial Education Conference (IPEMC) has decided to keep educational institutions across the country open, with the exception of Sindh, which will be closed until at least August 8.
Mehmood said that the Minister of Education of Sindh Province Saeed Ghani (Saeed Ghani) has notified IPEMC that the province will review the coronavirus situation before August 8 and decide on the next course of action to reopen schools and conduct examinations.
Shafqat’s press conference was held after he chaired an IPEMC meeting to review the latest coronavirus situation, closing and opening schools.
On the other hand, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have decided to stagger the start of schools at a 50% attendance rate.

Need to increase vaccination
“Integral vaccination in education [sector] It has reached 83%, but the vaccination rate of higher education institutions is lagging behind, and efforts should be increased,” said the Minister of Education.
To this end, the Minister of Education has been urged to make special efforts to vaccinate college students and teachers over the age of 18, Mehmood said.
The Minister of Education said that in this regard, vaccination of transport personnel is crucial and has set a deadline of August 31 for them.
Mehmood said that all exams will be conducted as planned, and Xinde’s timetable will be changed. “Level 9, 10, 11 and 12 exams will be conducted according to their schedule.”

“The next education-related meeting will be held on August 25 with the National Command and Operations Center. Until then, these decisions will remain unchanged,” Mahmoud said.

Participants discussed the beginning of a new academic conference, reopening the school based on the current COVID-19 situation, and vaccinating school teachers and other staff.
Actions to strengthen inclusive and responsive education, funding, coordination and performance reporting are also under discussion.
Sindhi’s views on reopening
After the meeting, Education Minister Saeed Ghani stated that all educational institutions in the province will be closed until August 8, and the remaining intermediate exams in Sindh will be conducted after the coronavirus situation improves.
The Minister of Education stated in a statement that education institutions will continue to be closed in accordance with the coronavirus restrictions imposed by Sindh as part of the province’s lockdown measures.
“The coronavirus situation in Sindh, especially Karachi, is not satisfactory,” the Minister of Education said, adding that the decision will be reviewed on August 8.
Ghani emphasized that Karachi and Hyderabad have much higher coronavirus cases compared to other parts of the country. He said that with this in mind, it is not feasible to reopen the school.
The Minister of Education said: “The Provincial Coronavirus Task Force will meet on August 8 and will determine the way forward.”
Sindh province suspended all examinations and suspended all activities related to face-to-face education after imposing a lockdown on the province on July 31.
