New Delhi: Samsung officially launched its latest series of high-end foldable smartphones on Wednesday (August 11). The two smartphones launched by the Korean electronics giant are Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Both devices are upgraded versions of existing foldable models, both launched at lower prices, which may stimulate the demand for foldable smartphones in key markets.
For example, Samsung sells the 5G-enabled Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the United States at a starting price of $1,799.99. This smartphone has a 7.6-inch home screen. Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be equipped with S-Pen support and adopt an under-screen camera design. The smartphone uses a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate AMOLED display panel.

On the other hand, the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 3 is priced at US$999.99 in the United States.
In contrast, Samsung’s previous models were launched at a price of US$1,999 and US$1,380. The consumer electronics giant is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 in major markets such as the United States and Europe on August 27.
Samsung is advertising that its foldable devices are lighter, thinner and better than existing foldable smartphones on the market. Foldable phones also support Samsung’s “S Pen”, which is used in Samsung’s Galaxy Note tablet phones.
However, Samsung said it will not discontinue Note. According to Reuters, Koh Dong-jin, the head of the company’s smartphone division, said in March that the company is preparing to launch the Note product next year.
