Ronaldo offers apology as Al-Nassr aborts China tour amidst injury setback

The decision to postpone these friendly games has been made with the intent to reschedule them at a later date.
Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, expressed his sentiments on the unfortunate turn of events, acknowledging the disappointment of fans and emphasising his longstanding connection with China: “I have played 22 years in football and I am a player that doesn’t have too many injuries. So I’m really sad because Al-Nassr and myself have come to China to enjoy the tour. I have been coming to China since 2003/2004, so I feel at home here – my second home.”
Despite the setback, Ronaldo reassured fans that the tour has not been cancelled entirely, and he remains committed to returning to China: “Don’t be sad because I am sad and I hope you understand the circumstances of a football player.”
The injury might sideline Ronaldo for a couple of weeks, potentially affecting his participation in the Riyadh Cup against Inter Miami, where he could miss a reunion with long-time rival Lionel Messi.
Al-Nassr, amidst their mid-season break, is adjusting their plans and aims to face Messi’s Inter Miami on February 1, followed by a clash with Al-Hilal a week later, and a return to competitive action in the AFC Champions League against Al Feiha on February 14.
