Rangers arrested the MQM-L killer in Surjani

Sindhi Rangers claimed on Friday that they had arrested a political party activist involved in the targeted killing.

A spokesperson for the paramilitary forces stated that their forces conducted an intelligence-based raid in the Surjani town area and arrested the suspect Muhammad A who was associated with the MQM-L in London. According to the Rangers, the defendant was involved in multiple targeted killings in the city. On December 28, 2018, he and an accomplice allegedly shot randomly at the office of the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) in the Usmanian colony of Gulbahar. Two men, Azhar and Naeem, were killed. Two party activists were also injured.

In addition, the suspect also allegedly attacked the MQM-Pakistan UC office in New Karachi on February 11, 2019. One of the political activists Shakeel Ansari was killed and the other man Azam was injured.

In different police stations, including Rizvia and New Karachi police stations, several FIRs have been registered against suspects. According to reports, several associates of the defendant were also arrested and imprisoned earlier, and he was declared absconded. Further investigation is ongoing.

The Rangers also carried out a targeted raid in Orangi Town together with the local police and arrested a suspect, Mohamed Hussein, who was allegedly involved in a number of armed robberies and criminal cases.

Law enforcement officers also seized weapons and stolen items, including a 9mm pistol, 30 caliber pistol, 21 mobile phones, motorcycles, cash and a security deposit worth 42,500 rupees, two gold rings and two gold earrings.

The investigation revealed that the suspect and his accomplices Bilal and Lahir had committed crimes in different areas of Orangi and SITE. According to reports, he admitted to committing more than 40 street crimes and dacoities. Further investigation is ongoing.
