Railway staff were told to improve passenger facilities

Lahore: Pakistan Railway Secretary/Chairman Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani has instructed relevant personnel to further improve the punctuality of trains and the facilities provided for passengers.
He said this while presiding over a meeting held at the railway headquarters to review the department’s monthly performance. The chairman listened to the introduction of freight, passenger transportation and land-related matters.
In his speech at the meeting, he asked relevant personnel to review the weekly performance of the railway headquarters in order to immediately assess and resolve operational and other issues. He said that weekly performance review meetings will let the authorities know which part of the department has room for improvement. The chairman instructed the IT department to connect the material management system of the Islamabad Carriage Factory to the warehouse of the chief control officer of the store to view inventory records on the computer.
At the same time, the representatives of the freight company also met with the chairman of the board and put forward suggestions to the chairman on freight-related issues. The railway chairman Habib-ur-Rehman Gilani issued instructions to the railway authorities to immediately resolve their legal issues. He said that measures should be taken to increase operational efficiency and improve the handling system.
Senior officials such as Nisar Ahmed Memon, CEO of Pakistan Railways, Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, General Manager of Transportation, Asif Matin Zaidi, General Manager of Infrastructure, Salman Sadiq, General Manager of Machinery, and Farooq Haider Sheikh, Business Development Consultant, attended the meeting.
Certificate issuance: A certificate was awarded at the Al-Hamra Art Center on Friday to students who have completed an internship with the Punjab Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR). Punjab Saman Lai, Director-General of DGPR, was the main guest of the ceremony.
Director News DGPR Javaid Younis, Hamid Javed Awan, Director Admin M Tahir, Abdul Wahid, Amir Butt, successful students and their parents also attended. In his speech at the ceremony, Saman Rai said that students who have performed well in the DGPR internship program are enthusiastic about learning.
