After observing an increase in the positive rate in the past two weeks, the Punjab Provincial Government announced on Saturday that it will implement a lockdown in 13 districts in Lahore.

“In the past two weeks, the positive rate and prevalence of COVID-19 in Punjab have increased, which poses a serious and imminent threat to public health,” said the notice issued by the Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Care Department road.

According to the notice, Department Secretary Sara Aslam announced that 13 areas in Lahore that have been identified as hot spots will implement “entry and exit control”.

These include towns such as Allama Iqbal, Aziz Bhatti, Cantt, Samanabad, Gulberg and Shalimar.

The lockdown will last until August 12.

During this period:

-Markets, shopping centers, restaurants, offices (public and private) should remain closed.

-Public and private transportation in and out of the area will be completely prohibited. One person per vehicle can move between exempt facilities.

-All social, religious or other gatherings will be prohibited in any public or private places.

-Pharmacies, medical stories, medical facilities, vaccination centers, gas stations, oil depots, tandoors, bakeries, grocery stores, milk and dairy shops, candy shops, vegetable and fruit shops, butcher shops, e-commerce, postal and courier services , Utility services (electricity, natural gas, internet, mobile phones) will be allowed to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

-Large department stores may open grocery stores and pharmacies.

-It is allowed to take out and deliver to the door from the restaurant.
