• PTI has reserved three seats for three-fifths of women.

Muzaffarabad: The regional election commission announced on Sunday that after winning three reserved seats for women, PTI has expanded its lead in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly, while PPP and PML-N can each have their own seats.

All five candidates have no objection.

PTI Imtiaz Naseem, Sabeha Sadique, Kausar Taqdees Gilani won, while Nabila Ayub from PPP and Nasaran Abbasi from PML-N were the winning candidates.

A total of 10 candidates submitted nomination documents for reserved seats, but 5 of them later withdrew their names.

The vote on the other three reserved seats — one each for technocrats, Ulema Omar Sheikh and overseas Kashmiris — will be held on Monday because there will be more than one candidate in each category competing.

According to the latest results, PTI has 29 seats in AJKLA, PPP has 12 seats, and PML-N has 7 seats.

On July 29, PTI won the LA-16 Bagh 3 seat of AJKLA. After the conflict caused voting to cease on July 25, the result was retained due to re-voting at four polling stations.

According to the unofficial result, PTI candidate Sardar Mir Akbar received 23,561 votes, while PPP’s Sardar Qamaruz Zaman received 23,267 votes-only a difference of 294 votes.

Among the 939 votes cast by government employees, PTI received 396 votes and PPP received 421 votes.

In the July 25 poll, PTI became the biggest winner with 25 seats, PPP ranked second with 11 seats, and PML-N won 6 seats.
