Lahore: According to a geographic news report released on Wednesday, Multan Sultan’s Sohaib Maqsood and Shahanawaz Dahani may be awarded a central contract after their outstanding performances in the sixth edition of the recently concluded Pakistan Premier League.

Both of them became the league’s top players, Dahani won the best bowler award, and Maksoud won the PSL 2021 award for best hitter and player for his outstanding batting performance.

According to Geo News, the Pakistan Cricket Committee (PCB) has not finalized the core contracts for the men’s team, and these contracts will expire today.

PCB officials are making contracts and are discussing some participants, and the health of a few people is also a concern of the board.

It is expected that the player will get a new contract before the England series, but various reasons have prevented this from happening.

A source within PCB told Geo News that the contract is under review and is in the final stage. The names of the players on the contract will be announced this week or early next week.

“The player’s performance and health will be the top priority of the new contract, and this will be tested in a training session in England,” they said.

Some players may be promoted to a higher category, and some players may face relegation based on their performance in the past few series.

It is expected that Hassan Ali and Faheem Ashraf are also considering signing a new contract.
