Proposed auto parts science and technology park: Aslam

Lahore: Provincial Minister of Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal stated that the Auto Parts Technology Park will be established on 9 acres of land in the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park in Shehupura.

He said it while chairing a meeting to review PIEDMC’s performance, the progress of the ongoing program and the implementation strategy of the new program. He observed that the science and technology park will have facilities for product design, training centers, parts manufacturing units, and testing. He said that the Punjab provincial government paved the way for the industrial revolution by establishing new industrial zones in the province. He said that the colonization of industrial areas can accelerate economic growth, so PIEDMC should focus on the colonization of industrial areas.

Aslam Iqbal said that the Sundar Industrial Zone is expanding to facilitate industrialists and increase investment. He instructed that the land acquisition mode of the expansion project should be negotiated and formulated, and the PC-I of the new plan will be completed before July 15, 2021.

The security of Chinese and other foreign investors should also be further improved. He instructed relevant departments to start the development of the Spring Aquatic Products Business Park. The Minister said that the Bahawalpur Industrial Zone will be completed after Eid al-Fitr. Sundar-Raiwind and Manga-Raiwind roads will be widened to improve traffic flow in the Sundar Industrial Zone.

PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi said that the development of Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhupura will be completed on December 31, 2022, and the new fiscal year will spend 2.95 billion rupees for the development of the industrial zone. Industry Minister Wasif Khurshid, Punjab Investment and Trade Commission CEO Dr. Arfa Iqbal, economic adviser Javed Iqbal, PIEDMC CEO and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
