Lahore: Electricity workers held a referendum in the Lahore Electricity Supply Company area and decided on a two-year collective bargaining agent.

The Lahore Electricity Supply Company Workers Union (Regd) won the referendum with 11,092 votes, while its rival Paigum Union won only 6,589 votes. Veteran union leader Khurshid Ahmed (Khurshid Ahmed) praised the workers’ peaceful referendum and announced that the union will spare no effort to increase power productivity. He said that he will provide better services to power consumers and continue to work hard to accept workers’ justice requirements for safe working conditions, so that the remaining daily labor force can work normally and improve work dignity. The union leaders vowed to continue their efforts to pressure the government to provide the people with cheaper electricity.
