Poets and scholars fondly miss Nasir Turabi

As the Sindh provincial government lifted the ban on cultural events and gatherings, the Arts Committee has officially started to hold mourning activities for artistic celebrities who have passed away in recent months.
After expressing condolences to singer SB John on Friday, the art committee held an event on Saturday night to pay tribute to the famous poet Nasir Turabi who passed away on January 10 this year.
The event was held at the Art Council Library, named after Josh Malihabadi, one of Turabi’s respected poets. Hosted by Shakeel Khan. Veteran literary figures participated in the event in a virtual and physical way, and talked about Turabi’s personality and achievements under the auspices of Shakeel Khan.

Poet and critic Aftab Muztar said that the late poet played an important role in improving the level of Karachi literature. He said Turabi belonged to a family of intellectuals. The speaker added that in Turabi’s speech, one can see a personality that not only understands the complexity of Urdu, but also understands the culture and traditions of his region.
Poet and linguist Dr. Khursheed Rizvi (Khursheed Rizvi) said on the Internet that he felt sorry for Turabi’s death. “This year, the new crown epidemic has claimed the lives of many people. We have lost many of our closest friends in literature, including Naseer Turabi. His unique style will be remembered forever,” he said.
