PM Imran Khantests Electronic Voting Machine

On Saturday, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan witnessed a detailed demonstration of a new locally made electronic voting machine.

Federal Minister of Science and Technology Shibli Faraz and his department officials briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan on the work of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM)
Shibli Faraz said that the EVM does not require an Internet connection and the software used in the machine is international standard, he added.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan witnessed a detailed demonstration of the EVM and voted. The Prime Minister also congratulated Shibli Faraz and his team for producing such an EVM.

In early June, Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated the current government’s determination to ensure the transparency of the country’s electoral process.

He is presiding over a meeting in Islamabad. Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued a directive requiring the use of electronic voting machines (EVM) in elections to be transparent and to meet all legal requirements in this regard.

The Prime Minister also instructed to complete the process of electoral reform, electronic voting and voting rights of Pakistani citizens as soon as possible.
