PM Imran Khan told Sindh’s lockdown means people will go hungry

On Sunday, in the context of the Sindh provincial government’s decision to implement a province-wide blockade, Prime Minister Imran Khan sent a message to the Sindh provincial government, saying that choosing such a measure means people will go hungry.

The Prime Minister’s statement was made when he answered on-site phone calls from citizens across the country. “We don’t want to harm our economy by imposing a lockdown […] We made the right decision by implementing a smart blockade. “

As Delta variants of the virus are widespread, the Prime Minister reminded the public to comply with the Coronavirus Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

He also talked about how a total blockade in the country is not a solution, and cited the example of India, where the situation of the poor has deteriorated.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the only way to curb the spread of the coronavirus is to get people vaccinated, as he emphasized that the government has so far successfully administered 30 million injections.

He said that smart lockdowns can be implemented in areas identified as hotspots, adding that unless all teachers are vaccinated, schools should not be reopened.

“Schools that have not vaccinated teachers should be closed.”

‘Free media is a blessing’

When answering questions about employment quotas, the Prime Minister said that the central government’s jurisdiction is smaller than that of the provinces. Therefore, he will instruct all provinces to allocate employment quotas to those who are worthy.

He said that leaders who are afraid of free media are either corrupt or have something to hide.

“If I had an apartment in London [or had been involved in corrupt activities], I will also be afraid of free media,” he said.

“I only oppose media that spread fake news, otherwise media freedom is the blessing of any country.”

The premiere also shed light on the future of the government’s flagship Ehsaas program.

In response to a question, the Prime Minister stated that he could not spend time developing sports in the country earlier, but now-in the last two years of his government-he will oversee sports development in the country.

Noor Mukadam’s killer cannot be “excluded”

The Prime Minister also clarified the murder of Noor Mukadam and stated that he had been following the investigation closely since the first day, adding that the incident was very tragic.

He said: “I must reiterate that no matter how strong the attacker’s family is or whether he is a U.S. national, he will not be spared if he is found guilty.”

He also talked about the suspected kidnapping of the daughter of the Afghan ambassador and said that he supervised the case as his own daughter.

Electronic voting machine

Car tax

In response to a question, the Prime Minister said that during the 2021-22 budget period, the car tax has been reduced, and he will investigate the reasons why the tax rate has not been reduced so far.

The prime minister said: “We have reduced the tax on 1,000cc cars so ordinary citizens can buy them at a lower price, but if the tax rate is not lowered, I will check them.”

The Prime Minister asked Hamad Azhar, the Federal Minister of Energy, a question related to “own funds”—that is, the premium paid to dealers to get the car as quickly as possible. He said: “Mr. Prime Minister, we have already The dealer was notified of the price reduction, but the person asked for his money. This is a black market threat because the demand is greater than the supply.”

Azhar said that automakers are speeding up production to meet growing demand, and Toyota and Honda motorcycles have reached a high level. He added that new entrants such as Kia, Hyundai, MG and Photon will also help keep up with demand.

“I believe the gap between supply and demand will end as supply catches up. The increase in demand for cars is a good thing because it shows economic prosperity,” he said, adding that the authorities will crack down on the black market.

Corrupt leaders seek NRO

The Prime Minister pointed out that a corruption-ridden society cannot prosper, but the country that controls this threat has prospered.
