PM Imran Khan ordered the suspension of FIA officials for allegedly ignoring female complaints

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered the suspension of FIA officials because they allegedly ignored multiple harassment complaints by a woman over the years.
The FIA was angry at the woman’s inaction in five complaints filed between December 16, 2019 and June 13, 2021. Prime Minister Khan ordered a transparent investigation of the incident and ordered the suspension of officials.
Due to constant harassment, the woman quit her job at a university and lodged a complaint with the FIA. Because of the latter’s so-called inaction, she tried to end her life.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated that despite two renewed complaints, the FIA failed to fulfill its responsibilities.
PM Khan ordered the DG FIA to suspend the official’s duties, ordered a fair investigation of the incident, and promised that she would bring justice.
He emphasized that the FIA would provide relief to the woman as soon as possible and said that any complaints should not be ignored.
The Prime Minister’s delivery department sent a letter to the DG FIA, requesting an investigation of the relevant officials.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated that the investigation report will be submitted to the Prime Minister on July 20.
