Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed the head of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) and MNA Shahzain Bugti as his special assistant for reconciliation and harmony in Balochistan on Wednesday.
The Cabinet Department said in a notice: “The Prime Minister […] I am very pleased to appoint Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti MNA as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Balochistan for Reconciliation and Harmony, effective immediately. He will serve as federal minister. “
The appointment comes after the government is committed to holding talks with “disgruntled” Baloch leaders who have nothing to do with India.
Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry said a day ago that Balochistan would soon become the “cradle of peace” in the country, adding that the people involved in the explosion in the town of Jowhar in Lahore-the government said earlier India has links-has been arrested by the authorities.
Two days ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that he was considering talking with the insurgents in Balochistan because the situation in the province has changed and Pakistan is moving towards a better future.
The Prime Minister said in a speech at an event in Gwadar that because of some past dissatisfaction, the insurgents may be dissatisfied with the country, or India may use them to spread terrorist activities in Pakistan.
The newly appointed SAPM was selected from the NA-259 constituency of Dera Bugti. His party is also an ally of the PTI-led government of the center.
