Peshawar Zalmi nervously knocks out the defending champion Karachi Kings

In a tense battle, Peshawar Zalmi defeated the defending champion Karachi Kings in the first knockout match of the sixth edition of the Pakistan Premier League at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Ground in the UAE.

Peshawar defeated Karachi with five wickets in their 176 pursuits-knocking out the team led by Imad Wasim from the tournament.

Zalmi will now face Islamabad United in the knockout 2 on June 22. The winners of this game will be eligible to enter the finals, where they will face Multan Sultan.

For Zalmi, Hazratullah Zazai and Kamran Akmal had brought them to 49 before Noor Ahmed drew the first blood.

Ahmed scored 13 points for Kamran Akmal in the fifth inning of Zalmi’s game.

Zazai, who played Kings bowlers all over the floor, completed half a century from 23 goals in the seventh inning.

The Afghan played so cleanly that the Kings’ star bowler and compatriot Ahmed knew nothing about him.

Peshawar lost their second wicket in the last ball of the 10th inning. It was Thisara Perera who removed Imam-ul-Haq and dropped Zalmi two.

In the 12th game, Pereira took down the dangerous Zazai with a 77 and knocked Zalmi down by three points.

The removal slowed Peshawar’s running speed and they needed 44 runs from the last 30 balls.

At the end of the 18th, Peshawar lost Khalid Usman who was knocked down by Mohammad Ilyas. At that time, Zalmi needed 16 goals and 21 points.

At the end of the 19th, Mohammad Amir removed Shoaib Malik to bring some hope to his Karachi side. When Malik was fired, Zarmi needed to run 13 times from 10 balls.

Karachi Kings

In the first game, the Kings were limited to 175 by Zalmi’s pitcher.

It was Mohammad Irfan of Zalmi who drew the first blood for Peshawar. The right shooter trapped Sharjeel on the penultimate ball of the sixth inning and took the Kings’ first wicket.

In the next game, Umaid Asif removed Martin Guptill and dropped two Karachi.

In the 12th game, Irfan removed the dangerous Danish Aziz and equalized Karachi with a three-pointer.

Babar Azam (Babar Azam) played a vital role in his team, he ended his half a century at the age of 14. He was fired by Wahab Riaz in the 15th game after he tried to score 6 points on Captain Zalmi’s bowling ball.

Thisara Parera scored an important 37 points for his team before being fired by Umaid Asif.

Wahab Riaz then fired Chadwick Walton, knocking out the defending champion by six.

In the last game, Mohammad Imran took out Imad Wasim from the first goal of the 20th game.

Imran only ran 10 times in the final game to ensure that the Kings ended their game 175/7.
