PCB transforms the provincial coaching structure for the new domestic season

• As part of preparing for the upcoming domestic season, PCB will reorganize the provincial coaching staff.
• The coaches of Sindh and Baluchiste, Bastari and Faisal Iqbal, have a lot of complaints.
• In the new setup, Abdur Rehman will replace Abdul Razzaq as the coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Committee (PCB) is expected to overhaul the provincial coaching structure in the upcoming domestic season. However, the board will make any decision after considering their performance last season.

According to sources, Sindh coach Bast Ali and Balochistan coach Faisal Iqbal have several complaints. Faisal Iqbal’s assistant coach Vasim Haider refused to cooperate with him.

At the same time, sources told Geographic News that Abdul Rahman may replace Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s coach Abdul Razak, as the latter is expected to be appointed as Punjab. The coach in the middle, replacing Shahid Anwar.

And Shahid Anwar is likely to be appointed as the head coach of South Punjab.

According to sources, PCB has completed the annual performance appraisal of provincial coaches. Grant Bradley Byrne, director of coaching education at the National Center for High Performance, reviewed their performance.

PCB is expected to appoint a new head coach for the North, and Hafiz Sajad Akbar has become a strong candidate for the position of assistant coach in the south of Punjab, replacing former test cricketer Ilfan Fazir .

Earlier this week, PCB announced the schedule for the 2021-22 domestic cricket season, which will host 10 games, including 266 games. In the last 2020-21 season, the board organized 220 games in nine games.

The domestic season matches are separated from the home international matches of New Zealand, England, West Indies and Australia and the Pakistan Premier League matches, which will be held from September 2021 to March 2022.

The 2021-22 season will hold an eight-day Cricket Association T20 Championship on September 15th, when the six teams of the XI Cricket Association will face off in the shortest form of competition in Quetta.

The national T20 competition will be held from September 25th to October 13th, when the country’s best shortest format players will participate. The 18 first-round games will be held in Multan, and the remaining 15 games, including two semi-finals and finals, will be held in Lahore.

The Quaid-e-Azam trophy is the jewel in the crown of Pakistan’s domestic competitions and will start on October 20th.

The first half of the 10-round singles will be played in Multan, Faisalabad and Lahore. The event will then move to Karachi, and a five-day final will be held on December 29.
