In answering a question, he said: “I played for the England under-19 team. I was a member of the Warwickshire team that won the double crown in 1995. I shared the locker room with players like Donald and Pollock. People can take these achievements from me.

“I used to start with Nick Knight and averaged 49 points per game that season. The highest score of 181 points was not out in my first season,” Wasim added.

Sharing other memories, Wasim said that once he played in Wellington, New Zealand, because he had a three-week cricket break, so he went to Sydney, Australia.

Pakistan played against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground and several players were injured, so Mustak Mohamed asked him to replace Mohamed Zahid.

In response to a question about the difference between operating a county club and a cricket committee in a country with a population of 22 million people, Vasim said the difference is huge.

“I am an administrator; the job is the same, but on a much larger scale. My job is not to choose a team, but to make the Pakistan cricket team financially viable, develop the system, and be stronger for long-term sustainability Structure,” Wasim said.

Speaking of the Pakistan cricket team’s performance against England in the recently concluded series, Wasim said he was a little disappointed with the result.

When answering questions about team selection, Wasim said that selecting a team is not his job, but the job of the selector.

Wasim said the team’s performance will be evaluated after each series. The Cricket Committee will meet at the end of August to evaluate the performance of the series against England and the West Indies.
