PCB announces timetable for England’s visit to Pakistan

Karachi: The Pakistan cricket team confirmed on Friday that the English cricket team will play two T20Is in Rawalpindi in October. This is the first time the English cricket team has toured the country since 2005.
PCB said in a press release: “The English men’s team will visit Pakistan in October and send two 2020 international players. The two matches will be played at the Pindi Cricket Ground in Rawalpindi from October 13th to 14th. .”
The New Zealand cricket team will also tour Pakistan in September-this is their first tour after 18 years-and this is one of many tours to further restore Pakistan’s image as a safe host for international competitions.
The West Indies and Australia will also play in Pakistan in the next seven months.
After the fatal attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009, Pakistan became a penalty area for international teams.
However, the rapid improvement in the security situation in recent years has gradually witnessed the return of international cricket, with Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, the West Indies and South Africa touring for the past six years.
The last time England visited Pakistan was in 2005. In 2012 and 2015, Pakistan had to host England in the United Arab Emirates.
“England men’s and women’s football will arrive in Islamabad on October 9th, and both teams will face 2020 international players on October 14th and 15th,” PCB said.
The English women’s football team will also play three one-day international matches at Pindi Stadium on October 17, 19 and 21.
