Pakistan’s Mahor Shahzad and Haseeb Tariq will compete tomorrow

Karachi: Two Pakistani athletes, Mahor Shahzad and Haseeb Tariq, will participate in their respective games at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday.

Mahoor Shahzad is Pakistan’s top badminton player. She will play her second badminton women’s singles group match with British player Kirsty Gilmour. Mahoor is currently ranked 133th in the world, while her opponent is ranked 26th.

She earlier defeated Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-3 and 21-8 in the first Olympic women’s singles badminton match on Saturday.

The Mahoor game is scheduled to start at 10:00 am Pakistan time. The Pakistani Shuttle hopes to have a wonderful game against the players with higher rankings.

Swimmer Haseeb Tariq will jump into the pool in the second stage of the men’s 100m freestyle. As many as 71 swimmers will compete in nine preliminaries to prepare for the semifinals.

Haseeb must be in the top 16 in time, regardless of the number of preliminaries, to qualify for the semi-finals on July 28.

The top eight semifinals will compete for medals in the final on the 29th.

The 25-year-old swimmer currently holds the Pakistani national record for the 100-meter freestyle with a personal best time of 53.34 seconds. His goal is to break his own record at the Tokyo Olympics.

If he wants to qualify for the next stage, he must swim 100m in no more than 48 seconds.

Pakistani female swimmer Bisma Khan will participate in the women’s 50m freestyle preliminaries on Friday.
