Pakistan’s daily number of COVID-19 cases exceeds the 5,000 mark

After the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) reported 5,026 new infections in the country on Sunday morning, the number of daily coronavirus cases in Pakistan exceeded the 5,000 mark for the first time in five months.

According to the latest statistics from NCOC, 56,965 coronavirus tests were performed in the past 24 hours, of which 5,026 were positive. The virus cases reported today are the highest level since April 4.

NCOC stated that the country’s current COVID-19 positive rate is 8.82%.

At the same time, the new coronavirus has claimed 62 lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 23,422.

Pakistan’s fight against the coronavirus is getting worse every day.

NCOC said that early Saturday, after 58,479 COVID-19 tests were conducted, 4,950 new infections were detected in the past 24 hours.

Statistics from the NCOC show that after 65 people died of the disease, the number of people who died from the coronavirus nationwide was 23,360, while the number of recovered patients was 940,164, and the country’s active cases were 66,287.

According to the breakdown of the provinces, the total number of cases in Sindh has reached 380,093, 143,673 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 356,211 in Punjab, 87,304 in Islamabad, 30,289 in Balochistan, 24,145 in Azar 24,145 cases in Mir and Gilgit.
