The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) team St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots announced on Thursday that they have signed the main hitter Asif Ali for the upcoming season.

The Patriots announced the news on all their social media platforms, welcoming the “powerful No. 6 batsman” to join the team.

Let’s welcome the powerful six-man batsman from Pakistan @AasifAli2018…look forward to more bats outside Warner Park,” the franchise tweeted.

According to reports, Asif Ali has replaced the injured South African batting Lassi van der Dusen.

The upcoming CPL season will start on August 26. The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will face the Barbados Royals on the same day.

All 33 games of the league will be played in Warner Park.

Asif Ali will play against experienced cricketers Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Dwayne Bravo, Anrich Nortje and Sherfane Rutherford, all of whom are members of the Patriots.
