Karachi: Pakistani cricketers extend their best wishes to the national team participating in the Tokyo Olympics, which will kick off on July 23.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the four-year sports event originally scheduled to be held in the summer of 2020 will begin today, and there will be no spectators at the opening ceremony.

Pakistani athletes will participate in 200m track and field, women’s badminton singles, 100kg judo, 10m air pistol shooting, men’s 100m freestyle and 50m women’s swimming, and 67kg weightlifting competitions.

Pakistan’s last Olympic medal was the bronze medal won by the national hockey team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The last individual medal was the bronze medal won by boxer Hussein Shah at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
