Pakistani cricketer cheers for “Javelin Hero” Arshad Nadeem

Pakistani cricketers have focused their attention behind the “javelin hero” Arshad Nadeem, who has brought hope to the masses who have ended the Pakistani Olympics medal shortage.

Arshad Nadeem will participate in the finals of the men’s javelin at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Saturday.

Pakistani fast bowlers Wahab Riaz and Hassan Ali tweeted their support for the starters.

“The great performance of our javelin hero @ArshadJavelin. We are all proud to qualify for the #Tokyo2020 final. All the best Arshad,” Wahab Riaz tweeted.

“Our hero comes from Mian Channu @ArshadJavelin. Mubarak has made the final achievement, insha’Allah you will make Pakistan proud! A lot of Duas,” Hassan Ali tweeted.

In his message, all-around player Imad Wasim said: “We are very proud of you.”

Pakistan goalkeeper Kamran Akmal praised Nadim’s impressive pitch and wished him the best results in the final.

Arshad Nadeem is the first Pakistani athlete ever to qualify for the Olympic track and field finals.

In his first attempt, the 24-year-old Pakistani athlete could reach the 78.5 million mark, but in the second attempt, Arshad made history with 85.16 million throws, which also put him in Group B. Among the best.

This is the third best pitch in the game after India’s Neeraj Chopra (86.65m) and Germany’s Johannes Vetter (85.64m).

Earlier this year, Arshad threw the javelin to a distance of 86.39m, setting his personal best and the national record during the Iranian Imam Reza Championship. In early 2019, he threw 86.29 million meters at the South Asian Games in Nepal.
