Islamabad: According to a report on Pakistan, it is expected that in the next four days, Pakistan will receive 4 million doses of Chinese vaccines, namely Sinopharm Group and Kexing International. Geographic News.

According to the Ministry of Health, Pakistan will receive 2 million doses each from Sinopharm and Kexing International in the next four days.

The source said that the plane carrying 2 million doses of Xenoxin vaccine is expected to arrive in Pakistan on Monday and Wednesday.

Pakistan also expects more doses of the British vaccine AstraZeneca to arrive in the country.

Pakistan receives 2 million doses of Sinovac from China

On June 22, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) special plane PK-6852 airlifted 2 million doses of Kexing COVID-19 vaccine from Beijing Capital International Airport to Islamabad.

Sources said that another 3 million doses of COVID-19 will be shipped to Pakistan in the next 10 days.

The government’s goal is to vaccinate 700,000 people by the end of the year.

Pakistani health authorities launched a nationwide vaccination campaign in March. China donated about 1 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine, starting with the elderly and frontline medical staff.

On February 1 this year, a military aircraft delivered the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine from Beijing, and Islamabad received the first shipment.

The activity started by focusing on the oldest person in the community, usually over 80 years old, and then gradually decreased.

Initially, the government had to deal with vaccination hesitation and vaccine supply shortages, and limited injections were given to people 30 years of age or older.

The vaccine is now available for people over 18 years of age.

China’s vaccine injection interval expands

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) earlier revised the guidelines for two doses of Chinese vaccines, widening the gap between the two doses to six weeks.

The initial interval between the two doses of SinoVac and Sinopharm vaccine was 4 weeks, and it has now been increased to 6 weeks.

The Sindh provincial government has stated that citizens who have received one dose of Sinopharm will still receive the second dose after the 21-day interval previously set. Similarly, those who have already received one dose of Sinovac will receive a second dose 4 weeks later, just as they did before.

The provincial health department stated that the new six-week interval rule applies to people who are vaccinated for the first time starting today.
