Foreign Minister Qureshi and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong visited Rawalpindi Joint Military Hospital on Sunday to inquire about the health conditions of Chinese citizens injured in the Dasu incident.

According to an Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) statement, during the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs hoped that the injured would recover quickly. Qureshi assured the injured Chinese citizens that the Pakistani government is willing to provide them with full support and medical treatment.

Ambassador Nong Rong said that China and Pakistan will continue to strengthen cooperation to jointly meet any challenges.

Earlier on arrival, Commander CMH Major General Mohamed Alem informed the visiting guests of the medical services provided to the wounded.

It should be remembered that on July 14, a bus carrying workers crashed into a canyon after “a gas leak caused an explosion due to a mechanical failure” in Upper Kochstan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Said in a statement.

According to the statement, the Chinese workers and accompanying Pakistani staff are “going to their workplaces for an ongoing project”.

The accident caused 12 deaths, including 9 Chinese citizens.
