Federal Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Assad Omar announced on Sunday that Pakistan has successfully vaccinated 25 million people with the new coronavirus.

The minister who is also the head of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) announced on Twitter that in addition to vaccinating 25 million people (2.5 million rupees), the government will also take steps to vaccinate more people in the next month.

Coronavirus death toll in Pakistan surges to more than 23,000

At the same time, data released by the NCOC on Sunday showed that in the past 24 hours, another 45 people died from the new coronavirus, bringing the death toll across Pakistan to more than 23,000.

According to NCOC data, 44,579 coronavirus tests were conducted nationwide in the past 24 hours, of which 2,819 were positive. The result means that Pakistan’s positive rate of coronavirus is 6.3%.

On the other hand, 45 new deaths means that the national death toll is 23,016.

The total number of recovered patients in Pakistan is 925,958 and the number of active cases is 55,720.
