Islamabad: Pakistan may see another rise in coronavirus cases as the country reported more than 1,000 COVID-19 cases in one day for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday.

A few days ago, the number of daily cases reported in the country declined, and then the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) allowed relaxation of business hours and other measures, which led to an increase in coronavirus cases.

The NCOC’s daily report released on Sunday morning stated that as many as 29 people have died from COVID-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of deaths across the country has increased to 22,379.

Currently, the positive rate is 2.57.

This is the fourth day that there are more than 1,000 new cases, and it is also the fifth consecutive day that the positive rate has exceeded 2%.

After the country reported less than 1,000 cases per day more than a week ago, the number of daily coronavirus cases earlier this week returned to more than 1,000 cases earlier this week.

According to NCOC data, 47,832 tests were conducted on July 3, of which 1,228 test results were positive.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan currently stands at 32,621.

So far, at least 907,284 people have recovered across Pakistan, and the total number of cases has reached 962,313.
