Pakistan has recorded 2,327 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 983,719.

According to data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), another 31 people died from the disease during this period, bringing the death toll to 22,720.

A total of 37,690 tests have been performed in the past 24 hours, and 2,327 patients have tested positive. The positive rate of infection was 6.17%.
The number of active COVID-19 cases currently stands at 43,670. A total of 917,329 people have recovered from the pandemic, and 2,388 patients are in critical condition and are currently hospitalized in hospitals across the country.

As of July 16, 21,660,650 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been vaccinated, including 17,336,845 doses of partial vaccines and 4,323,805 doses of two doses.

On Thursday, Pakistan received another 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from China.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane carrying Sanova vaccine cargo landed at Islamabad International Airport on Thursday.

According to sources, Pakistan has purchased 1.5 million doses of Coxing vaccine from Chinese vaccine manufacturers.

The source said earlier that the 100,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine purchased by Pakistan will also arrive in Islamabad in July, and the country will also receive a batch of AstraZeneca vaccine under Covax.
