Islamabad: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed announced on Friday that the Pakistani government will relax visa policies for journalists and media workers stranded in Afghanistan.

The decision was made in view of the constantly changing situation in Afghanistan.

According to a statement issued in this regard, international journalists and media workers who intend to leave Afghanistan via Pakistan are urged to apply for Pakistani visas.

The Ministry of the Interior has indicated that it will give priority to these international journalists and workers in issuing visas.

In view of the safety of journalists and media workers working in Afghanistan, the Pakistani government announced visa exemption.
