Pakistan is committed to the territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia: Prime Minister Imran Khan

Islamabad: On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a conversation with the Chief of Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces that Pakistan is committed to safeguarding Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office stated that the Chief of Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, General Fayez bin Hamid Al-Roveli, visited Prime Minister Imran Khan in his office today.

The Prime Minister welcomed the delegation and extended cordial greetings to King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Prime Minister added that the Pakistani people have always admired and respected Saudi leaders. He further stated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a close brotherhood.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Saudi general discussed a series of important issues.

The Prime Minister expressed his hope to further deepen and expand mutual cooperation between the two countries and strengthen non-governmental ties.

The statement said that Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed the hope that the recently established Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordinating Committee (SPSCC) will play a catalytic role in promoting and strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.

He further expressed satisfaction with the defense relationship between the two countries and added that he hoped that the cooperation in the next few years would be developed.

The Saudi general also expressed appreciation for this cooperation and the professionalism shown by the Pakistan Armed Forces.

The meeting discussed the situation in Yemen, and Prime Minister Imran Khan supported the resolution of the conflict through diplomacy and dialogue. He appreciated Saudi Arabia’s role in resolving the conflict in Yemen.

The press release further stated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a historic brotherhood rooted in common beliefs, common history and mutual support. Regular exchanges with high-level exchanges are a manifestation of the relationship between the two countries.
