Pakistan hopes to establish a “long-term and lasting” relationship with us: COAS

Angela Aggeler, who is in charge of Pakistan affairs in the United States (US), visited Army Chief of Staff (COAS) General Kamal Javed Bajwa at the Rawalpindi Headquarters (GHQ) on Friday (Qamar Javed Bajwa).

The Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that during the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common concern, the current security situation in Afghanistan, and bilateral cooperation in various fields.

COAS stated that Pakistan hopes to “maintain long-term and multi-domain lasting relations with the United States.” He reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to the peace process in Afghanistan and will continue to cooperate with all stakeholders to achieve a peaceful settlement.

The American diplomat recognized and appreciated Pakistan’s consistent support for regional peace and stability and promised to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

General Bajwa, who presided over the Legion Commander’s Conference (CCC) on Wednesday, said: “As a collective responsibility, all stakeholders must actively play their role to promote lasting peace in Afghanistan, which is essential to the stability of the region. Important.”
