Pakistan has reported 4,040 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, citing the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) as the report on Monday.

NCOC stated that after the emergence of 4,040 new infections, the total number of confirmed cases in the country has risen to 1,071,620. A total of 964,404 people recovered from the pandemic, adding that the positive rate of infection was 7.54%.
NCOC stated that COVID-19 has claimed 53 lives across Pakistan in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll from the disease to 23,918, adding that 3,805 people are in critical condition.

To date, Pakistan has performed 16,501,934 tests to diagnose the deadly virus, of which 53,528 tests have been performed in the past 24 hours.
Sindh province is the most affected area of ​​the country with 400,400 infections, followed by Punjab province with 364,680 cases reported.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province ranked third with 148,619 cases. To date, 90,660 people in Islamabad, 31,177 people in Balochistan, 27,288 people in AJK and the United Kingdom have reported 8,796 new infections.
