Pakistan captain Babar Azam tied Imran Khan’s record in England

Pakistan captain Babar Azam set multiple records in the third and final one-day international match against England at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old top batsman played the biggest game of any Pakistani in ODI as the captain.

Earlier, Shoaib Malik set the longest personal round record in ODI as the captain of Pakistan. In 2008, Malik played 125 games in the Karachi National Stadium against India.

Azam received another honor. He became the first Pakistani captain to score a century in England after 38 years. Before Azam, [Prime Minister] Imran Khan spent a century in Leeds in 1983.

In the day and night races on Tuesday, Azam played well, setting a record of 158 runs.

With his high scores, he became the fastest player to shoot 14 hundred in 81 men’s ODI innings. In contrast, India’s Wirat Kolli reached a milestone in 103 innings, behind South Africa’s Hashim Amra (84 innings) and Australia’s David Warner (98 innings).

The star batsman also created the longest ODI partnership with Muhammed Rizwan against England, 179 times in total.

With his strength, Azam has also become the only Pakistani cricket player who has played hundreds of ODI goals in three games. Saeed Anwar, Fakhar Zaman and Imamul Haq each spent two centuries on British soil.

Azam had a poor performance in the first two games because he was fired before he scored a point in Cardiff’s first ODI. He only scored 19 points and was sent back to Lord’s Pavilion in the second game.
