The Pakistan cricket team-team and staff-celebrated the new world record for goalkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan for the most T20I points scored in a year.

In the second T20I match between Guyana and the West Indies, Rizwan scored the 43rd game, breaking this record. Before being eliminated, he scored 46 times on 36 balls.

“Indeed, this is a proud moment for me, because it is not only my record, but also a national record, because it is a world record,” Rizwan said after achieving this feat.

The goalkeeper said that this is not easy under the restrictions of the coronavirus-players’ repeated insistence will affect their mental health.

“I never thought I would break the world record,” he said.

After hitting 20 innings in 2019, Rizwan took the title of T20I’s top scorer of the year from Ireland’s Paul Sterling, who scored 748 points in 20 innings.

In the current calendar year, the batter scored 752 points in 14 innings.

Before Rizwan, Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez became the record holder of the leading T20I scorer after scoring 415 points in 8 innings in 2020.

Rizwan also has a total of 1,189 games in international cricket matches this year, including all three forms, which is the highest among all players so far.

Relying on Rizwan’s feat, Pakistan now maintains the record of “highest achievement in history” in two forms.

Another record was set by Mohammad Yousuf after completing 1,788 tests in 2006.
