Just like in 2020, there will be no glitzy Las Vegas awards ceremony. And, as in 2020, this will not prevent the best and brightest people in the NHL from acquiring their hardware.

The NHL will start awarding the 2021 awards on June 14th, although we know some of the winners in advance.

Maple Leafs forward Alston Matthews won the Morris “Rocket” Richard Trophy with 41 goals in the regular season. Conor McDavid of Edmonton won the Art Rose Trophy with an NHL highest score of 105 points. He scored 21 points more than the second teammate on the roster, Leon Draisaitl. Matthews and McDavid are also competing for the Hart Trophy. Marc-Andre Fleury and Robin Lehner’s Golden Knights goalkeeper tandem to win the 2021 William M. Jennings Trophy with the fewest goals (124). This is Fleury’s first time winning; Lehner and Thomas Greiss won the Islanders championship in 2019.

King Clancy Memorial Trophy

Awarded to a player who “showed leadership on and under the ice and made a significant humanitarian contribution to his community”. The trophy winners are selected by the NHL Senior Management Committee, which includes committee member Gary Bateman and vice chairman Bill Daley.

Mrs. Bin Memorial Trophy

Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award

Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award

Awarded to “players who have demonstrated outstanding leadership for the team on and off the court during the regular season.” As a member of the Hall of Fame and six-time Stanley Cup champion, Messier made the final decision on who won the award.

Calder Memorial Trophy
