The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to challenge the asset bail case of President PML-N Punjab and MNA Rana Sanaullah in the Supreme Court.

Sources told ARY News that the bureau is ready to appeal the decision of the Lahore High Court (LHC) to grant bail. It will cite Rana Sanaullah as the respondent in the appeal.

The source quoted the appeal as saying that the LHC confirmed the lawmaker’s bail to deny the facts. The appeal alleges that Rana Sanaullah has assets beyond his source of income and will request the Supreme Court to revoke the LHC’s bail ruling.
On April 5, the Lahore High Court approved the temporary bail of the PML-N leader in the asset case, which was later confirmed by the court.

NAB prosecutor Faisal Bukhari told the court that Sanaullah received a salary of 127 million rupees while performing his duties in various public positions between 1990 and 2019, and he did not have any other source of income.

He detailed Sanaullah’s inherited property including a 10-Kanal farmland and two houses. The prosecutor added that he did not mention his 14 properties anywhere and it was necessary to arrest the defendant for investigation.
