According to reports, the Minister of Schools in Punjab, Murad Ras, announced on Tuesday that in addition to planning to open more such educational institutions in other parts of Punjab, a transgender school will also be opened in Multan.

Murad Raas added: “We ignored the entire community before and never thought that they would receive education or work,” adding that they made a decision after meeting with representatives of the transgender community. Decided.
He said they were asked why they discourage transgender people from joining regular schools. The Minister of Education said: “If they go to ordinary schools, then children who don’t understand the emotional aspects of the school may hurt them by making fun of them.”

However, Murad Raas said that through a gradual process, they will bring more transgender people to regular schools.

He said that they will open more schools for the community in other parts of the province and provide them with employment opportunities.

At the same time, despite the slim chances, Pakistan’s transgender community has made global headlines for its hard work.

One example is Gia, a Pakistani transgender woman who runs a tailor shop in a brand new Karachi market.

The Pakistani Parliament recognized the third gender in 2018, giving these people basic rights, such as the ability to vote and choose gender in official documents.

The 2017 census recorded approximately 10,000 transgender people, although transgender rights organizations say that in a country of 220 million people, this number may far exceed 300,000.
