The leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) supported the city’s ongoing anti-appropriation movement on the order of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), but expressed that the party has reservations about the procedures adopted. Demolition of illegal buildings and selection of anti-invasion areas.

At a press conference held at the party’s secretariat on Friday, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi, the convener of MQM-P, asked the committee to authorize the committee to deal with the illegal occupation and occupation of the city, and said that it would occupy and sell the metropolis in the name of the Godabad Plan The land constitutes billions of frauds.

Siddiqi asked the provincial government to provide houses for affected families before demolishing encroached and illegal buildings. He said that since the Ayub Khan government, the occupation of the city was motivated by special considerations.

He insisted that MQM-P has been seeking justice from the court. “The method of implementing the decision and the regional choice of the anti-appropriation movement are now being questioned,” he said.

The convener of MQM-P called for severe action against all those responsible for illegal land trading and those who helped establish embezzlement.

He claimed that 70% to 90% of people currently working in Karachi government agencies do not belong to the city. “Those who allowed the embezzlement are now tearing them up, and they should be arrested first,” he said. He added that the residents of Karachi have been deceived for 35 years.

Amir Khan, senior deputy convener of MQM-P, said that Karachi’s last mayor, MQM-P’s Wasim Akhtar, demolished illegal marriage halls and shops during his tenure.

“It was the mayor of MQM who acted on the encroachment, but at the same time provided alternative accommodation for the affected people,” Khan said. “MQM-P felt the pain in Karachi,” he said, while he lamented that the Sindh Provincial Government did not provide alternative housing for the affected families before demolishing their houses.

He said that the Supreme Court has many other orders that should also be implemented. Khan claimed that in the anti-occupation operation, the government’s first priority was only those areas where the Muhajir community lived.

Former mayor Akhtar said that during his tenure as mayor, he demolished stores in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order. “But first, all these businesses are transferred to alternative venues provided by the city government,” he claimed. He called on CJP to also investigate other problems in the city, such as water shortages, power outages and dilapidated sewage systems.
