Maryam Nawaz condemned Prime Minister Imran Khan for her rape comments

PML-N Vice President Mariam Nawaz accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of comments on rising sexual violence on Wednesday. He has said that when women wear fewer clothes, men are “tempted”.

Mariam attacked the prime minister at a press conference in Lahore. He said: “Imran Khan’s statement reflects a criminal mentality. He revealed his superficial ideas to the country.”

“What about the children who have been sexually abused? Are they abused? [sexual violence] Because of their clothes? She asked.

PML-N leaders stated that Pakistan needs to get rid of the mentality of blaming the victims for the violence.

Mariam said the prime minister “should be ashamed of such a statement.”

The PML-N leader accused PM Khan of insulting rape victims and added that his words would aggravate the harm to the parents of children involved in these tragedies.

“They will be ashamed of you for holding them accountable,” she told the prime minister.

When asked about her father’s return, Mariam said that if she could guarantee that Nawaz Sharif would not be in danger, she would call him back home immediately.

She laughed at the government, saying that the fourth finance minister of the current regime had submitted a third federal budget.

She condemned the bombing in Lahore and paid tribute to the police who sacrificed their lives during the mission.

“It depends on which society you live in,” Prime Minister Imran Khan replied. He added: “If people have not seen that kind of thing in a society, it will have an impact on them.”

He dismissed the accusations of rape victims, accused him of “nonsense”, and said that the concept of boudoir was to avoid social temptation.

“We don’t have a disco here, we don’t have a nightclub, so here is a completely different society, the way of life here, so if you raise the temptation of society to this point, all these young people have nowhere to go, it will affect the society. Make an impact,” Khan said.
